"I got a tax bill in the mail, do I pay it?"

| Sam MacArthur

Property taxes for the year have been sent out to all homeowners prompting questions on if they have to pay them?

The county is required to send out your property tax bill but many homeowners don’t have to pay them as that is already escrowed into their mortgage and the mortgage company will pay it on their behalf!

They pay their property taxes within their mortgage payment so they DO NOT have to pay the bill/notice they receive in the mail.

The only scenario your clients will have to pay the bill they receive is if they are not escrowed, or if they do not have a mortgage on their home.

This is a great opportunity to reach out to your previous buyers and let them know if they are escrowed, that they don’t have to worry about that bill! If they are not sure if they are escrowed, they can always reach out to their previous lender.

Holiday Season can be stressful enough, make sure your clients don’t stress about a bill they don’t have to pay!
